Gifts of Stock

Thank you for your interest in donating stock to Westminster Presbyterian Church. The directions here provide you with the information you need to make such a donation.

If you do decide to make a stock donation, please e-mail Sally Pasternack (sally.pasternack@yahoo.com) and Jerilynn Blackstone (JBlacks750@aol.com) at the time with:

1. your name
2. the name of your stock and
3. the approximate value of the stock

When the stock is liquidated, Smith Barney will inform the church of the cash amount but not the donor, nor the name of the stock. Therefore, in order for us to know who has made the donation, you must advise us that it is coming.

You will be credited with a contribution equal to the cash that is transferred to the church not the value of the stock on the date it leaves your account. The amount will appear on the quarterly statement WPC mails out. The year in which the stock leaves your account is the year of record for purposes of your tax deduction. Therefore, it is important that you e-mail Sally Pasternack when you have instructed the transfer.
