Summer Mission Trips
Westminster sends a group of high school students and adult leaders each year to provide a week of service to those in need. Service projects have included building and painting houses, running a day camp for children, working at a Food Bank, serving food at a homeless shelter, and more. We begin planning meetings in the fall, hold fundraisers, learn about our mission site, and build team bonds.
We leave in June shortly after school is out. The past few years we have worked in Tijuana, Mexico; New Orleans, Louisiana; Chicago, Illinois; and San Diego, California. All high school youth are welcome on the trip. This past summer, we worked in Denver, Colorado.
Our middle school youth also participate in a four-day mission trip to a local area at the end of July. Last summer, they went to Fresno and this summer they worked in the Bay Area.
Plans for 2012
All high schoolers are invited to an informational meeting about our 2012 summer trip on Sunday, November 20 from 5:00-5:45 pm. The trip will be from June 10-16.
Details about the middle school trip will be available in early 2012.
