Music At Westminster
The music program at Westminster is full and varied, offering thoughtful contributions to liturgy and meaningful experiences for both performers and listeners. Westminster honors the musical contributions of many cultures and centuries of music, including Taizé chant, Shaker tunes, American spirituals, traditional hymns, contemporary repertoire, and anthems from the Anglican, African, Russian, Hebrew, Renaissance, and American Indian traditions as well as local composers – not all in the same service, of course, but in the course of the year certainly. Westminster's spirited music director is RuthE. Wells, and our treasured organist and choir accompanist is Alla Artemova.
A Cantors leads the service chants in worship at 8:30am and offers a solo anthem.
The Sanctuary Choir offers anthems and other music in the 10:00am worship service (August 31 through early June). Rehearsals are on Thursday evening, 7:30-9:00 pm. The choir welcomes adults and high school youth who are interested in full-harmony singing.
The summer music program (mid-June through August 24) includes various guest musicians: soloists and small ensembles that in 2008 include a Russian male quintet, a women’s gospel group and a rock combo. Anyone with musical talent to share is encouraged to contact RuthE. Wells (ruthe.wells@gmail.com).

Contemporary Band
Several times throughout the year, the Contemporary Band provides music at the 10:00am service. This eclectic group of adults and youth rehearse about once a month. Music is fun and lively, and all sorts of instruments are incorporated into the mix; if you have a gift to share, bring it! Contact the vibrant Bethany Nelson (bethanyn@juno.com) if you would like to participate in the Contemporary Band.
The Joyful Noise Children's Choir
Psalm 100:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into His presence with singing!

The WPC Joyful Noise Choir
The WPC Joyful Noise Choir is a fun place where children learn to express their spirituality through music. The Joyful Noise Choir presents a Christmas Eve pageant and share a song with the congregation during Time of Discovery at the 10:00am worship service several times during the school year. All young people, grades K through 6, are welcome to sing in the children's choir. Rehearsals are on Sundays (September through early June) from 11:15am to 12:15pm. Contact the joyful Barbara Kessell (bjkessell@hotmail.com) for more information on Joyful Noise.
